Match Preview of Real Madrid vs Al Ahly

Real Madrid starts their journey to win the Club World Cup by facing Egyptian team Al Ahly in the semi-final match at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Morocco on Wednesday.

The team that comes out on top in this match will go on to play either Flamengo or Al-Hilal in the championship game on Saturday, and the losing team will have to participate in a playoff to determine their third-place finish.

Al Ahly has made it to the semi-final round of the Club World Cup for the third consecutive year by defeating Auckland City and Seattle Sounders in the earlier rounds.

After easily winning 3-0 against Auckland in the first round, Al Ahly defeated Seattle 1-0 in the second round on Saturday with a goal from substitute Mohamed Magdy, which deflected in the 88th minute.

Those early-season defeats to Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion now feel like an eternity ago for Erik ten Hag's men, who are in the driving seat for Champions League football as they sit comfortably in third place in the Premier League table, and Manchester City are now just three points clear of their local adversaries following their defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Marcel Koller's side, who currently sit six points clear at the top of the Egyptian Premier League table, have now extended their unbeaten run across all competitions to 23 matches, including victories in each of their last five games.

Our Predicted Lineups

Real Madird possible starting lineup:Lunin; Carvajal, Nacho, Rudiger, Alaba; Kroos, Tchouameni, Modric; Valverde, Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr

Al Ahly possible starting lineup: starting lineup:El Shenawy; Hany, Metwalli, Abdelmonem, Maaloul; Fathi, Dieng, El Solia; Tau, Sherif, Abdel Kader

Who will win the match?

We say: Al Ahly 1-2 Real Madrid. Al Ahly head into Wednesday's semi-final as underdogs but they cannot be underestimated considering their impressive unbeaten record and strengths in defence. However, Real Madrid should have enough quality in their side – even if a few star names are absent due to injury – to progress to Saturday's final.
